County Long Course Training – Selection Criteria Update 23/11/14

For the period January to July 2015 there has been no change to the selection criteria however to support younger swimmers in the county, 13 year olds (as at 10.8.14) will move to the older group (now called Black) and additional swimmers will be invited to the younger group (now called Gold)

 Following the announcement that the county initiative on long course training will continue from September, invitations have now been sent to swimmers who were selected using the criteria set out below. Head Coaches have also been informed of the initial selection. 

The criteria for the period September to December is: 

Age as 10th August 2014 (min age 10 years, max age 17 years)

Age groups –  National Qualifiers and then %NQT on 200 stroke & IM (10 year olds calculated on RQT)

Youth – National Qualifiers and then %NQT on No1 stroke/distance

Subject to an announcement by British Swimming following their consultation earlier this year, the selection criteria may change for the remainder of the season, January 2015 to July 2015.

Invitations were sent out at the end of July and a response date of 31st August set. After the 31st August, there may be further invitations sent if space allows.
