The prestigious Swim England National Awards ceremony, held at the University of Birmingham over the weekend, was an opportunity to celebrate and thank our remarkable individuals and teams from across the country.
Well done to Flitwick Dolphins SC, on winning the Club of the Year award.
This award recognises a non – Swim England funded club that shows a commitment and passion for aquatics by providing a quality and enjoyable experience to their members, through developing innovative ways to grow and improve the club and by being part of a wider Club Network. Over 30 clubs being nominated and after careful consideration by the award panel 2 clubs, Flitwick Dolphins and City of Bristol were shortlisted for an award.
Congratulations also go to Liz Woolner, awarded the Senior Participant award. Liz is also a member of Flitwick Dolphins SC.
The good news does not end there however, not happy with just one Award as FDSC master’s swimmer Liz Woolner also was also recognised by Swim England, being awarded the Swim England Achievement Award – Senior Participation. Liz’s achievements are many, Master Champion, British Masters record holder, East Region records holder and bronze medal winner at last year’s European Masters in London, just recently successfully competing in the British Masters Long Course Champs in Aberdeen breaking the British Masters record for 50m Fly and picking up a gold in the 100 Fly.
